Seiko 5, model SNX123 (2001)
My first automatic watch. Mine has been customized with black date wheels, a vast improvement from the original white background/black text ones, in my opinion. From the factory, it comes on an oyster-style bracelet. I found it a little tinny and thin, and had no luck in finding a solid-link bracelet to replace it (getting the end-links to fit is always tricky, especially at 19mm), so it's on a Vincenza Sport strap from Bob Davis. In defense of the supplied bracelet, it's no worse than a lot of older Rolex bracelets ;).
Even with these nice-but-not necessary extras, it's still one of the best deals in the watch world - routinely available for around $65, brand new. That's a pretty interesting testament to the vertical integration on the company - Seiko reportedly controls every single aspect of its production, from machining the cases to refining the oils used to lubricate the movement. Though the concept of a manufacture is a Swiss one, the Japanese, in Seiko, have achieved it more fully that any Swiss entity ever has, and for a fraction of the price.
