Panerai 111

I've long lusted after this watch, but was unsure whether the large (44mm) case would prove overwhelming on my puny wrists for everyday wear. My friend Dean was kind enough to lend me his over Thanksgiving and my birthday (2007), with the requirement that I take a bunch of pictures.

I was sad to have to send this one back - turns out the size is great for me, and it really is an almost perfect example of a bold but casual watch. As far as I'm concerned, there are very few watches that pull off clean, simple design quite like this one. While there are other watches that are more of a priority for me right now, and while I recognize that they're vastly overpriced for what they are, I'm fairly certain that I'll eventually acquire one of these for myself - somehow, it just felt right.
