Omega Constellation, 1963

This one was received from my friend Don in exchange for some design work I did for him. The body and case of the lugs are gold-capped, meaning that a thin layer of gold is folded over a steel case - this was a common technique before gold plating became commonplace. The bezel is solid gold, and interestingly, it looks to be a slightly different alloy from what is used for the gold cap, as it has a discernibly redder tinge to it. It's not in mint condition - the dial is a redial and the case shows some dings - but it's got this great Atticus Finch casual/formal panache that I really enjoy, especially in the summer.

Sadly I had to sell this one off in early 2011 to fund another purchase.
